The Mar & Terra Research and Development Center is located in Pimenta Bueno in the state of Rondônia and it was especially designed for breeding Paiche (Arapaima gigas) and Pintado fingerlings. Nowadays we count on brood fish individually identified through microchips. This allows us to follow the development of each animal, assess their reproductive efficiency, and plan mating aiming at the genetic improvement program. We are currently in our second generation of genetically improved brood stock. We are constantly improving our production technology, pursuing excellence in the production of fingerlings, in a sustainable manner.
