About the Tambaqui (Colossoma macropomum)

The Tambaqui (Colossoma macropomum) is one of the most important fish species in central Amazon and is differentiated by its mixed color which is dark at the upper parts and light at the bottom. It can reach 90 cm and 45 kg. During flood periods it swims inside the flooded forests to eat fruits and seeds.
